The Fascinating History Behind the Vice President’s Residence, Number One Observatory Circle

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Number One Observatory Circle, the official residence of the Vice President of the United States. Located on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., the house was built in 1893 for the observatory’s superintendent.
