For the first episode of this season, Dateline travelled to Singapore to learn more about the country’s Changi prison, including its strict punishments for drug related crimes. This includes the death penalty. Dateline met the family of Pannir, who was sentenced to death for smuggling heroin. Pannir consistently said he was tricked into smuggling the drugs.
