The camera was left on the Lunar Rover and parked a few hundred feet from the Lunar Module. They had attempted to record the previous 2 landings from the rover but the time delay from the guys on the moon saying they were lifting off, to the guy in the control room who was controlling the camera joystick, to the signals getting back to the rover meant that they missed the shots.
