The Senate early Friday morning passed a bill to partially fund DHS, including TSA, but not ICE. The bill now heads to the House.

The Senate approved a Homeland Security funding package this morning that includes funding for TSA, offering a possible resolution to a standoff that has left airport security agents unpaid for weeks.

TSA agents are set to miss their second paychecks since the partial government shutdown last month. The good news is lawmakers have reached a bi-partisan deal in the Senate to end the shutdown, paving the way for TSA workers to be paid.

Republicans in the House of Representatives are planning on proposing a stopgap funding bill for all of the Department of Homeland Security, breaking with a Senate-passed deal that left out Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection.

On Friday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to pay TSA agents all current and back pay amidst the ongoing partial government shutdown.

The stalemate to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues, but TSA agents are expected to begin receiving paychecks again as soon as Monday.
